04 Jun Where Transformation Happens: Breaking the Cycle of ‘Becausing’
By Rev. Alaya Chadwick, M.S.W., M.Div.
When individuals come to me for guidance, their first question is often, “What is wrong with me?”—followed by a long narrative of self-judgment and perceived failures. This pattern, which I call “The Horrible Truths,” reflects how we justify life’s challenges through past actions or inactions.
Take a moment to reflect: Have you ever engaged in this pattern? We all have—until we recognize that true change happens when we stop the cycle of “Becausing.” Transformation begins with awareness and alignment.
The Wisdom WAY: A Map of the Psyche
After 25 years of clinical practice and spiritual study, I was given a profound understanding of the human psyche—a clear and empowering framework for transformation. Without actively seeking it, I developed an openness to Self that revealed this guiding map. I have since worked with individuals and couples worldwide, using this approach due to its effectiveness.
I call it The Wisdom WAY, a method that quickly uncovers how we unconsciously solve or perpetuate our struggles. Rooted in childhood understanding, it shapes how we navigate life, often without conscious awareness.
The Intersection of Spirituality and Psychology
True transformation occurs at the crossroads of Spirituality and Psychology, where we can confront our unconscious fears that keep us stuck, lost, or confused despite our desire for change. This moment is an intersection of choice—an opportunity to break free from limiting patterns.
Letting Go of ‘Becausing’
Have faith! The belief that we are broken is an illusion; rather, our focus is distorted by a deep loyalty to Becausing. The courage required to let go of this habit cannot be overstated.
When we stand openly at the intersection of our psychology and spirituality, we allow transformation to unfold. Dare to drop your ‘becauses’—and experience yourself anew.
